The President Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has since joined President Muhammadu Buhari in addressing the APC Governorship candidate in Adamawa state, Distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, a.k.a Binani as the “Governor-In-Waiting”, defeating every conspiracy, ill-intended anti party rumours and insinuations baked without taste for a test by the ruling party in the state about to be reduced to the opposition owing to the leadership style of the Governor, so unfavourable to the citizenry, the electorates would lament.
While the PDP in Adamawa state will suffer anti party on Saturday March 18, the like never experienced before, based on yet to be addressed grievances stemming from what the aggrieved referred to as executive stiffness and deception, attending only to those in the category of deceptive defection, the President Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, just as President Muhammadu Buhari in the national broadcast would, has called on the Adamawa electorate to join in making history and elect Binani, the amazon the duo trusted, would perform amazingly in getting the state out of the maze.
A source revealed that Governor Fintiri would work on inviting His Excellency Atiku Abubakar the Waziri Adamawa and the PDP presidential candidate who lost to Tinubu, to woo, more particularly, the electorates in Ganye Chiefdom, southern senatorial district, to repeat in the governorship election what great performance of the presidential election, by any means necessary, even if to convince the electorates that there’s hope in reclaiming the presidential mandate after the governorship election.
Ganye Chiefdom is one of the prominent APC strongholds as far as the governorship election is concerned for obvious reasons; the chiefdom is literally abandoned by the PDP led government, the constituents have benefited from the effective and efficient representation by Hon Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas and from the empowerment packages of Senator Binani and that they felt betrayed by the outcome of the presidential election in Numan Federation, the constituency of both the sitting deputy governor and his substitute.
“We gathered that there was an understanding that PDP Atiku’s mandate should be sacrificed for Labour Party’s Peter Obi during the Presidential elections while the LP would sacrifice its governorship candidate for PDP Fintiri’s reelection bid. It was the reason that Governor Fintiri spoke favourably about Peter Obi when he visited the Numan Federation for the pact.
“Fintiri is only about himself by any means necessary than a team player. This is a payback time. Let the Numan Federation vote for their PDP governorship candidate, now that they have with humiliation, forsaken their governorship candidate, we also have our APC governorship candidate, enjoying the support of the forsaken Labour Party’s governorship candidate.
“I’m sure you read the The Nation news report of Feb. 4, 2023, where it was revealed that Fintiri hit on the idea of appealing to the Christian community and resorted to wooing the Christian voters, particularly those of them who are leaning towards the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi. The rest remains history or a story of betrayal”.
Nation newspaper of February 4, 2023, news report reads thus:
“Jolted by Binani’s growing popularity and crowd pulling rallies, Fintiri felt a desperate need to neutralise it by any means possible. Since he already has a sizable support from the Muslim community in the state (or so he thought), he hit on the idea of appealing to the Christian community and resorted to wooing the Christian voters, particularly those of them who are leaning towards the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi. During one of his campaign rallies in a predominantly Christian community, he chose to say some kind words about Obi, believing that his listeners would be persuaded by that to embrace him.
“Well, how much vote the Obi card would fetch him in the governorship election remains a matter of conjecture. What is certain, however, is that his kind words on Obi has landed him in trouble with Atiku and the national secretariat of the PDP, who were said to be miffed by the gesture. Kind words for Obi in Adamawa, the territory of Atiku, Turaki (Waziri) Adamawa, and from a PDP governor? What sacrilege!
“While the party has demanded an explanation from the Adamawa governor, Atiku’s loyalists are livid and are baying for his blood. Atiku was said to have wondered if the bug of Wike, who is leading the G5 governors in their opposition to his candidacy, has also beaten Fintiri. ‘Is that what Wike asked him to do here?’ the PDP presidential candidate reportedly asked”. (FROM THE NATION)
“What will Atiku say to convince the electorates in Ganye Chiefdom, Adamawa Central and Northern zones? Fintiri, we’ve gathered, has already promised to hand over the governorship to a Christian candidate after 2023, that is, if he succeeded himself. This ruled out the possibility of Atiku’s son joining the governorship race, in addition to Atiku’s resolve to join the 2027 presidential race, if he failed to win the case before the election tribunal. It also ruled out the chance of any Muslim in the state to participate in the governorship race under the PDP umbrella,” some of the electorate from Ganye Chiefdom would say.
What would Waziri Adamawa say, if he should be in Yola on Thursday to support Fintiri? To appreciate the Adamawa electorate for the overwhelming winning support! To give them hope that the presidential mandate would be reclaimed because advanced democratic countries would not tolerate a Nigerian Muslim-Muslim ticket! Would it be appealing to the Muslims majority in Adamawa?
This arrangement as insinuations packaged, is indeed dead on arrival, more especially, with the State House Press Release Monday, issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity) Malam Garba Shehu, who was a media aide to His Excellency Atiku Abubaksr when he was Vice President.
It reads thus;
MARCH 25 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IS A MARKED IMPROVEMENT ON PAST ELECTIONS, THE WORLD SHOULD NOTE THIS
The Presidency thanks former ambassadors Mark Green and Johnnie Carson – along with other foreign observers – for their concerns over the logistics of the recent general election in Nigeria and their work as observers on the National Democratic Institute/International Republican Institute Election Observation Missions.
It is worth setting their comments in context. No one has disputed the result of the election, except the candidates that fell short. The biggest and the most competitive presidential election in the history of Nigeria has been won by one man: Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The US State department congratulated President-elect Bola Tinubu of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC and the people of Nigeria on the outcome of the “competitive election.” British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, was also quick to congratulate the winner, on this victory. And so did many others in ECOWAS and the African Union.
Though it is true there were some delays and technical faults in the process that we can learn from – as is the case in any election the world over – the vote progressed and consolidated democracy in Nigeria. The integrity of the Electoral Act of 2022 was strengthened. The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System cut out ghost, unauthorised or multiple votes to stem fraud. The election may not have been pluperfect, but due to the steps the government has taken, it is an improvement on previous polls. That achievement should not be overlooked. The next step is for the Election Commission to ensure transparency in collation.
Adverse reactions as received from some quarters are themselves a part of the learning process for everyone. Elsewhere, the world had been treated to epic lies, obfuscation, jingoism and hate, and told by global media to expect a different outcome. Nigerians shocked the world by refusing religious hatred and sectarian politics.
All true friends of Nigeria should join the people in proceeding forward for sustainable peace.
APC victory in the presidential election, underscored by the nationwide wave of support in the National Assembly results is clear mandate for the party to retain power for another term of four years.
This election is an improvement on past elections and due credit should be given to the government and people of this country.
